  • This debut collection of poems from one of Auckland’s rising literary stars centres around pain, joy, memories, hopes, resilience and loss.

Frantz’s words leave a strong message to never give up hope, and that everything can be overcome, no matter how hard things seem at the time.

  • KATHY FRANTZ was born in 1962 in South Auckland to Hungarian refugee parents. Kathy is a poet, teacher, and life coach, and the proud mother of two adult children and three grandsons. A notebook resides beside her bed for midnight scribblings of poetry and copious lists.  Motherland is her debut poetry collection and has been a labour of love for 43 years.
